Since 1972, Studio F. A. Porsche has pursued the perfect symbiosis of form and function, always adhering to the principle of its founder, Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (1935–2012): “Design must be honest.” The special exhibition presents the studio’s development and its captivating creations, including the world’s first black wristwatch, the “Chronograph I” (1972), the visionary “Alternative Motorcycle Concept” (1980), and the “Exclusive Eyewear” (1978).

The exhibition begins with the life of the company’s founder, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (1935–2012), a grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, who also designed the iconic shape of the Porsche 911. It then traces the surprisingly broad scope of his studio’s work, which includes designs for the in-house brand—many of which have become design icons—as well as product design for other clients. The range extends from medical technology to streetcars (such as in Vienna and Bangkok) to luxury yachts “designed in Zell am See.”
